Infallible, yet unkissable; Loreal Paris 8 hr Lip Gloss Review

"Ooooh Pretttttty!" Is the first thing I said when I saw Loreal's Infallible Lip Gloss in Pink Topaz. I adore pink lipstick and pink lip gloss. No I'm not a Barb or crazed Nicki Minaj fan, (although I do enjoy Pink Friday and appreciate a glammed up Barbie doll). I just LOOOOVE Pink! I'm a proud dark-chocolate diva, who refuses to believe that dark-skinned chicks must wear dark colors on their lips. Boooo, that's so 1992.  So when I see a bright pink lip accessory that looks like it might work with my skin tone; I'm quick to jump at the opportunity to "Think Pink" (yes I too used to dream of being a Victoria's Secret model).

The great thing about the Infallible lip gloss purchase (which is about $8.50 a pop by-the-way) is that it looks amazing with my brown skin. I was right about the color. It was not too bright or pale. It also lasted quite a while. Maybe not 8 hours, but close enough. The only thing that bothered me is when I'd lick my lips or press my lips together; it felt like there was a barrier on my lips. I couldn't feel my tongue touching my lips; I could feel my tongue touching a thick saran wrap-like surface though. This is fine if I don't intend on letting another person touch my lips. If I'm going to go the whole day making sure men look, but don't touch; then this gloss is perfect, but if I go on a date or end up lip locking with a beau, then we're going to have some problems. This is not a kissable lip gloss. It's a work- and-look-fly lip gloss, it's a Way-too-busy-to-stop-and-reapply lip gloss, it's a mom-on-the-go-but-damn-it-I'm-fly lip gloss, not a girlfriend lip gloss, or a kissing bandit lip gloss.

You can help this lip gloss along however, by simply rubbing on a little CoverGirl Wetslicks (great for make-out sessions and creating soft lips), or simply yet, a little petroleum jelly or coconut oil across your lips. This will loosen the barrier a little, making your lips a little more physically inviting. This way, if you get a surprise visit from your hubby on your lunch break he won't be put off by the cling wrap plastic barrier on your lips.

Stay pretty and kissably soft divas!
